5 Trends That Will Take Over in 2024

5 Trends That Will Take Over in 2024

As a professional window shopper and reseller that wears the same outfit every day of their life, I’d say I have a decent outlook into the future of fashion trends. I’m always trying to get ahead of the curve, stocking up on what I think will become more desirable, therefore increasing in value soon.

Corny? -Yes.

Late-Stage-Capitalism? -Probably.

Ethical? -I would say so.

Manipulative? -Arguable.

In terms of strategy, I don’t have many. I just buy what I think is cool and fairly priced. I see beauty in all fashion styles regardless of how I dress. Neglect your personal aesthetic bias and think in the mind of others.

Also, if you’re a fellow reseller reading this article trying to jack my steeze, GO AWAY.

HERE ARE MY FIVE (5) FASHION PREDICTIONS FOR 2024

#1: “NINJA HOODIE”

This trend of the “Ninja Hoodie” has already been catapulted into the spotlight. As always, thank Drake for introducing us to these works of art. It’s like a Patagonia fleece with a shiesty mask built in for optional stealth mode. I do not like the name “Ninja Hoodie,” but I cant think of a better name. I want to call it a full zip, but its not full. It’s like a 95% zip, or a 19/20 zip. Oh well, they’re super comfortable, practical, and stealthy for the gorpcore enthusiasts.

Here are a few of my favorite pieces in this style:

2: “STRAIGHT CUT PANTS”

This one sounds really dumb, but just hear me out. I’m talking Levi’s 550’s, Dickies 874 style. Straight cut thigh to ankle, no taper. Denim, canvas, linen, what ever fabric your want. We’re obviously seeing a resurgence of baggy styled, along with flares and bell bottoms. In 2016 it was all about skinny stacked denim. In 2024, we’re hitting that middle ground, the equilibrium, a compromise if you will. Everyone is saying skinny jeans are coming back this year, but where are they? Idiots.

3: "MOHAIR SWEATER"

Knit sweaters have been dominating the indie aesthetic for the past few years now and I definitely rock with it. Knit sweaters and cardigans are staples in my store every fall and winter without fail. Mohair looks great on outerwear, and I am seeing a boost in Pinterest mood boards regarding it. Specifically flashy colored mohair cardigans. It’s a good look, I’m definitely a supporter of this one.
Price warning, here’s where you can find some of the best mohair sweaters:

4: "SHORT INSEAM PLEATED SHORTS"

We’ve seen a resurgence in more preppy styles in recent years thanks to Tyler, The Creator. And by short, I mean 5.5 inches to be exact. Anything shorter and you’re risking your likelihood of any corporate job or good internet reputation.  I personally am a big fan of letting the thighs breathe. Then again, I do have a thigh tattoo so that has some leverage on my personal bias. The pleats make it classy; perfect to pair with your uncomfortable ass derby’s. This one can go for the ladies too. I mess with the pleated miniskirts heavy.

Dries Van Noten is the only brand I can recommend; they’re killing it, and nobody compares when it comes to the pleated shorts:

BONUS: "HANGING PANTS IN THE CLOSET"

Maturing means washing your denim less and hanging pants in your closet. I’m signing an executive order to outlaw dressers permanently. I want you to hang everything on hangers. Tees, pants, shorts, underwear, socks, hats, all of it. Hanging clothing prevents permanent creases that are caused by folding. It also preserves the shape and fit of the garments.

Here's just an Amazon link to some pants hangers.

Well thanks for reading. I don't really know how to wrap this one up. Do you wanna see more of these in 2024? What are your 2024 fashion predictions? Do I care? Who cares, I'll sell it anyway.

    Best,

    Cam
